This update features 2 new plug-ins, Rainfall and Snowfall, extending the HD package to a total of 73 plug-ins with 16 bpc support. Upgrading from the bundled CycoreFX version means an additional 12 plug-ins. Also included in this update are 15 plug-ins with 32 bpc (float) support.

Rainfall and Snowfall allows to easily and quickly create "real-looking" rain and snow when there is no time to get into a complex particle generator. Create anything from gentle summer rain to raging snow blizzards. A scene depth control provides an excellent depth feeling and you can add realistic reflections/lighting requiring nothing but your footage. There are a number of controls to customize motion and to set a specific range of randomness to individual drops for increased realism. When used on footage with a panning camera you can offset the entire "rainfall" or "snowfall" volume to match the motion of the footage.

Several others plug-ins have added functionality, e.g, option to align textured discs to motion path in Particle World, duotone and pentone mappings in Toner and a new rotate fading option in Radial Blur. The update is free for all current CycoreFX HD owners.

Path Tools is a brand new package containing two powerful plug-ins, Rakka and Wiggle Stroke. The basic requirement for both plug-ins is a mask path. Rakka also needs a layer to "rack-up", or repeat, along the selected mask path. From there, the combinations are almost endless to create cool and original looking animations, backgrounds or effects. You can create stunning animations with minimal effort ― animations that were once only possible with particle generators. Using Wiggle Stroke you can do anything from "wiggling" frames to completely crazy looking thread/wire animations, all from a single mask path. Sphere Utilities is a brand new package containing four plug-ins that are essentially tools to be used to create, edit and animate spherical maps. Using Sphere Utilities these tasks become as easy as moving text from left to right on the screen. Need to draw a line from Seattle to Uppsala or animate an airplane flying from Melbourne to LA crossing the date line? Sphere Utilities is a must have. Crossing the date line is a task that currently involves a lot of manual work, duplication of the layer and hand-matching the motion. These animations can then be used directly in After Effects with CC Sphere, or any other plug-in that supports spherical mapping, or in your favorite 3D application. The CycoreFX HD "basic" project has been updated to include the Rainfall and Snowfall plug-ins. The projects gives a good introduction to the HD package, as well as being a good complementary to the manual.
